Hello, I'm Ayla.

Midwife, lactation consultant and holistic companion for women

My journey into the world of childbirth and women's health is very personal, born out of a deep love for medicine, natural healing, and community support. I believe that every woman deserves professional, personalized, and respectful guidance that will allow her to experience pregnancy, birth, and motherhood in the way that is right for her.

I was born and raised in Texas, and I am the mother of four sons and one daughter. At the age of 18, I made a significant decision and immigrated to Israel on my own. It was here that I met my husband, and together we built our home in Moshav Natur, a supportive and diverse community in the heart of the Golan Heights, where religious and secular people live together in an embracing and communal atmosphere.

I have always been drawn to the field of medicine and natural healing. I studied nursing at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, and after a decade in the field, I fulfilled a dream and became a certified midwife and lactation consultant.

Holistic support for pregnancy and childbirth
And the period after that

I founded “Atoofa” with a vision to provide women with personal and holistic obstetric care, combining professional medicine with natural treatment approaches. I believe in sensitive and empowering care, allowing every woman to receive full support throughout the entire journey – from pregnancy, through birth, to the experience of first motherhood.

From a young age, I was drawn to the world of medicine and natural healing. My father, Rapha Peretz, may his memory be a blessing, was a neurosurgeon, became ill of non-hodgkin's lymphoma at the young age of 40. After two bone marrow transplant treatments, the disease ultimately overwhelmed him and he returned his soul to the Creator. But during his fight against the disease, he went on a deep and meaningful journey in which he was opened to the world of holistic healing, and learned about many methods such as healing with crystals, colors, and chakras – and most importantly, strengthened his faith and trust in Hashem. My father was always very spiritual but this path led him to focus on spirituality in search for meaning behind his suffering.

I was very close with my father and was deeply affected by his illness and his journey. I too became interested in holistic medicine at a very young age and was in love with all of it and had an inherent belief that it was all part of Hashem's natural ways to give us healing. I wondered why wait till we fall ill to look for healing, rather make it an inherent part of our daily living.

I studied Nursing at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, and after ten years in the field, I fulfilled my dream of becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife and Lactation Consultant. After becoming a midwife I was quickly drawn to study every course there was about holistic healing in general and how it relates to pregnancy and natural birth. From there I became addicted to learning and taking every course there is on every modality.

Due to limitations of time, resources, and energy, I have chosen to focus primarily on essential oils, crystals, massage, water therapy, and energy healing. However, I have a rich “toolbox” of methods and treatments – and I choose each time intuitively, with Hashem’s help, what is appropriate and right for that moment.

Beyond my work as a midwife, I also run a Gamach (community lending service) that provides essential medical supplies such as inhalation devices, nursing pumps, essential oil diffusers, and other much-needed resources for families when clinics are closed.

Support for women
At all stages of life

My approach to supporting women goes beyond medical care alone – it focuses on strengthening the body, mind, and spirit during the special period of pregnancy and motherhood.

Beyond providing support during pregnancy and childbirth, I treat women and families at different stages of their lives using a variety of therapeutic tools:

Birth-Oriented Emotional Therapy (BOT) – emotional and physical support in preparation for birth, processing previous birth experiences, and personal guidance during pregnancy and motherhood.

Sobada – a traditional holistic treatment that helps women through the fertility, pregnancy, childbirth and menopause processes, as well as for babies and children.

Holistic complementary healing – a combination of aromatherapy, crystals, therapeutic massage, and natural methods to strengthen the body and improve the quality of life.

Bodeket Tahara – Consulting and support on family purity and women's health issues, including personal guidance for brides on issues of intimacy and relationships.

I believe in the power of preventive treatment and the importance of combining Western medicine with natural healing methods, to provide every woman with the personal and professional support that best suits her.
