Home birth

A Natural, Empowering, and Safe Experience

Birth is one of the most transformative experiences in a woman’s life. Choosing to give birth at home, in a familiar, comfortable, and safe environment, allows you to experience the process in a natural and connected way.
More and more women are choosing home birth to take control of the experience and to go through it in a more intimate setting, with the right support and without unnecessary interventions.

Why Home Birth?

A Calm, Safe, and Familiar Environment

At home, you remain in your natural surroundings, which helps you feel more relaxed and reduces stress levels.

The home environment allows you complete freedom of movement – you can choose the position that feels right, move around as you need, and let labor progress naturally, without external pressures.

Minimum Medical Interventions – Maximum Connection to Your Body

Hospital births often follow strict medical protocols, including inductions, continuous monitoring that may limit movement, and planned C-sections.
In a home birth, the midwife follows your body’s natural rhythm, adapting to your pace and process without pressure or unnecessary intervention.

Personal and empowering

With a home birth, you have complete control over the environment in which you will give birth. There is no changing medical staff, no pressure of hospital stays, and you are surrounded by the people you choose to be by your side.

How to plan a safe home birth

Strict medical monitoring
During pregnancy

During the months of pregnancy, the midwife makes sure that the pregnancy is progressing without complications and that there are no early signs of problems that may require medical intervention.

Preliminary planning
and emergency preparedness

Before the birth, a plan is drawn up that includes signs that require a transfer to the hospital, as well as the preparation of all the equipment necessary for a home birth.

Midwife presence
Qualified and experienced

The midwife is present throughout the birth, knows how to identify unusual signs and is able to provide immediate response if necessary.

Quick access
To the hospital

In cases where a transfer to a hospital is necessary, there is a clear plan for rapid transfer, which includes coordination with the medical team at the nearest institution.

Home birth – step by step

Home birth is a process that begins long before the day of the birth itself, and continues well after. I accompany you from the first moment until the moment you hug your baby in your own home, with professional and emotional support that is tailored exactly to your needs.

Step 1: Preparing for a home birth
Even before the birth, we meet to get to know you, understand your needs, and build a personal birth plan for you.
At this point I:
• Meets with you for periodic checkups and pregnancy monitoring, to make sure everything is progressing properly.
• Plans the birth with you – possible positions, use of water, supportive accessories, and physical and emotional preparation.
• Helps you prepare your home for childbirth – what to prepare, where to give birth at home, and how to create a calm and pleasant atmosphere.

Stage 2: The beginning of labor

• Helps you find a comfortable position and provides you with tools to relieve pain.
• Creates a calm atmosphere that allows you to connect with the birth process naturally.

During labor, I am here to provide you with everything you need, at your own pace and according to your preferences:
• If you would like, I can perform a massage that will help relax the muscles and reduce pain.
• I guide you through breathing and movement, so that your body will work in harmony with the birth process.
• If you have chosen to use water for birth, I assist you in water birth or in using a hot tub for relaxation and pain relief.
3
Stage 4: The moment of birth
When the time comes to give birth, I am here for you. I support, guide, and give you a safe and comfortable space to go through the birth experience in a way that feels most natural and right for you.

Stage 5: After birth
After your baby is born, I continue to care for you and your baby:
• I check the baby, make sure everything is okay, and perform initial tests.
• I help you start breastfeeding, explain correct positions, and make sure breastfeeding is well established.
• I make sure you feel well and that there is no unusual bleeding, and help you relax and recover.
5
Step 6: Postpartum Visits
My care does not end with the birth – I come to your home in the first few days after the birth to make sure everything is going well.
• I monitor your breastfeeding status and help you with any challenges that arise.
• I perform medical tests for the baby, including PKU testing, jaundice, and other tests.
• I give you emotional and physical support, assist you in recovery, and give you a place to ask any questions.

Frequently Asked Questions About Safe Home Birth

Is home birth safe?

One of the main questions that arise when considering a home birth is the question of safety. It is important to understand that a planned home birth, which takes place under appropriate conditions and with professional guidance, can be safe for women with a normal pregnancy and without risk factors.

How do you ensure that a home birth will be carried out safely?

Studies show that planned home births for healthy women can be as safe as hospital births when done with professional care and advance preparation. Some studies even suggest that planned home births involve fewer medical interventions, such as inductions and cesarean sections, which can cause unnecessary complications. However, it is important to remember that every birth is unique, and an individual assessment should be performed to determine whether home birth is the right choice for you.

What happens if something goes wrong?

In cases where concerns arise or complications develop during labor, the midwife acts according to the pre-determined emergency plan. Typically, the transfer to the hospital is done in an orderly and pre-coordinated manner, so that the woman and baby receive the necessary care quickly and effectively.

Is home birth right for me?

The decision to choose a home birth is a personal one and varies from woman to woman. The best way to know if this option is right for you is to schedule a consultation with a certified midwife , who can assess your situation and provide you with personalized information.
